Lost Map, Found Friend

Anna squinted at the map in her hands, realizing the street names didn’t match any she’d marked earlier, just as a young man waved from across the plaza, holding a nearly identical map upside down. They laughed in quiet relief when they met in the middle, swapping their guides while dodging late-morning cyclists and the sharp notes of a street musician’s saxophone.

"Do you happen to know which way to the old market?" he asked, showing her the faded lines someone had drawn. Together, they followed the wrong turns and missed signs until the scent of baked bread led them to a sunlit alley crowded with locals.

She grinned, handing him a small, syrupy pastry from a paper bag. “I guess we’re both in the right place now.”
